About Us

Commodity Inspection Services Pty Ltd is a privately owned Australian company that commenced business in 1993, offering surveying and analytical services for bulk tallow exporters and tallying services for a large exporter of game meat.

Our ability to deliver reliable and professional services, as well as extensive product knowledge, led to rapid growth. Our business expanded to include inspection, certification and analytical services for the various types of protein meals as well as grains, pulses and sugar; and to other general superintendence work such as damage surveys, quality control and stocktaking of dry and liquid products.

When deregulation of non-bulk wheat exports took place, we achieved accreditation as a superintendent/analyst under the Export Wheat Commission Scheme. Although the non-bulk wheat export scheme ended in July 2008, CIS has continued to be a major provider of services for wheat exporters, carrying out surveys on bulk wheat shipments in conjunction with our long time international associates Control Union World Group. We are also one of the major providers of superintendence services to the Australian tallow shipping market.

We provide first class customer support from our head office in Sydney, where our attentive staff handle customer inquiries, both commercial and technical, as well as issuing analysis reports, certificates and inspection reports. We also have a fully equipped laboratory in the Brisbane suburb of Pinkenba, close to the river and bulk liquids shipping terminals. Here our team of qualified chemists provide analytical services that meet the short turnaround times demanded by the export industries, without sacrificing accuracy and adherence to internationally recognized standard methods. A network of qualified surveyors and inspectors located throughout Australia completes our team.

We are continually improving aspects of our business in accordance with the accreditation we proudly hold and work towards further accreditation to ensure that our systems and practices are in line with internationally recognized standards.
